Behaviour at Belfield

At Belfield Community School we expect every child to follow our Behaviour for Learning Rules, as they enable the children to get the very best from their learning. These rules are displayed in each classroom and in key areas around school.

If the children are not able to follow the rules as set out below, the child will receive verbal reminders to help them make the right choice. Failure to do this will result in a warning on the class behaviour tracker; a warning helps children to think of the correct choices to make and the behaviour that is expected.

If a child continues to not follow the rules they will go onto stage 1 of the tracker this is ‘time out’ in the classroom. Stage 2 of the tracker is time out in a different class.

Time out gives a child the chance to calm down and think about the behaviour we expect at school.

If a child then gets to stage 3 the following procedures take place:

  1. Go to Head/Deputy Head Teacher to complete a reflection chart. This will help children to think about their behaviour choices.
  2. They will then talk it through with class teacher
  3. A letter goes home to inform their parents/carers.

If you have any concerns about your child's behaviour at school then please do not hesitate to speak to your child's teacher or Mrs Harper.
