Welcome to Class 10

Meet Mrs Richardson

Teacher

Hi, my name is Mrs Richardson and I’m the teacher of C10, alongside our teaching assistant, Mrs Mahmood. I joined Belfield in September 2026 and I’m really excited to be part of the school community. My favourite subjects to teach are Maths and Art. I’ve always loved drawing, painting and anything creative! When I was at school, one of my favourite subjects was history, and it still fascinates me today. My favourite topic is Ancient Egypt – I love learning about the pharaohs, pyramids and life in ancient times. When I’m not in school, you’ll often find me out hiking and enjoying beautiful scenery and nature, or spending some quiet time painting. I’m also a big Harry Potter fan! Before becoming a teacher, I served in the military, which is an important part of my story and something I’m very proud of.

Muslim Beliefs
RE Lesson and Community Time

During our Community Time, Year 4 explored Islam and learnt about Muslim beliefs and practices. We sat together in a circle, sharing our ideas and listening respectfully to one another. The children reflected on their learning by writing down key facts they could remember about Islam. They then enjoyed designing their own prayer mats, using their creativity and understanding of the importance of prayer in Islam. This was a lovely opportunity to develop our knowledge, celebrate different beliefs and show respect for others.

Touchstones – Egyptian Box

Year 4 had an exciting opportunity to become historians when we borrowed a special Ancient Egyptian loan box from Touchstones! Inside the box, we discovered a fascinating collection of artefacts that helped us learn more about life in Ancient Egypt. We carefully explored different objects, including Egyptian figures, jewellery and a replica pharaoh's headdress. We wore white protective gloves to make sure we handled the artefacts safely and respectfully, just like real museum experts! We also used magnifying glasses to examine the intricate patterns, colours and tiny details on each object. We enjoyed sharing our observations, asking thoughtful questions and discussing what the artefacts could tell us about the past. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that brought our Ancient Egyptian learning to life!
